Synopsis:

West of Jesus follows the true story of author Steven Kotler’s quest to uncover the origins of a surfing myth. The story followed a fantastical legend of the Conductor, a mysterious figure who could control the weather and waves with a wand made from human bone. The journey led Kotler to Mexico, Indonesia, and Hawai’i. That journey also become a personal mission of self-exploration and unravelling the mysteries of belief and our ancient connection to the ocean. This adaptation by Neal Utterback captures the magic of Kotler’s seminal text and serves as a love letter to the sport, lifestyle, and art of surfing.
